A roundtable meeting with paediatric cardiac surgeons from Mexico was held at the Mercure Hotel Berlin Mitte on 4 February.

Prof. Boulos Asfour from Bonn, Prof. Michael Hübler from Hamburg and Prof. Tsvetomir Loukanov from Heidelberg presented their experiences with the Matrix Patch equine as well as general current topics in paediatric cardiac surgery.

Prof. Quenot Alexis Javier Palacios Macedo and Prof. Antonio Benita Bordes (both from Mexico City) reported on the current state of paediatric cardiac surgery in Mexico, particularly the unique aspects of performing surgery at high altitude.

On Monday and Tuesday, the Mexican surgeons visited the hospitals of their German colleagues.
